For Catholics, the Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. It is often called the “Door of the Church” as it is the first of seven sacraments. It initiates a person into the Catholic faith and welcomes them as a member of the church.
Baptism of Infants
Sundays at 1:00 p.m. or during weekend Masses. Required Baptism Preparation classes are held every other month, with locations alternating between St. Mary and St. Gabriel.
Please call the Parish Office at 440-285-7051 at least two weeks in advance to make arrangements for your child’s Baptism.
Baptism of Adults
Typically takes place during the Easter Vigil Mass (Saturday night before Easter) and after the person has gone through the R.C.I.A. program. R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is an ongoing inquiry program about the Catholic faith.
